Daniel (Dan) Fenza, PE, CRL is the President & CEO of MRO Innovators, LLC. With nearly 30 years of federal facility maintenance and construction experience, Dan is responsible for effectively leading the growth of the company from a young upstart into the premier provider of core facility services.
Prior to his role with MROI, Dan served as the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Chugach Alaska Corporation (Chugach) where he was responsible for growing Chugach’s profitability through the corporation’s portfolio of operating companies (Chugach Government Solutions and Chugach Commercial Holdings) and investments (Chugach Investment Holdings). He also oversaw Chugach’s corporate shared services functions, including its finance, legal/risk, human resources, communications, IT and facilities departments.
In his 22 years with Chugach, Dan progressed through a variety of other strategic roles. This included serving as Vice President of Business Intelligence and Innovation, during which he pioneered technology transformation efforts designed to reduce costs and streamline efficiencies for CGS. Dan authored and published the company’s ISO 55000 Asset Management Program, and led the design, build and implementation of the company’s enterprise EAM/CMMS Maximo™ system, which automated the company's work management, material management, procurement and property management best practices across the company’s operations. The ISO 55000 program was named a winner of the International 2019 Uptime Awards from Reliabilityweb.com while the EAM/CMMS Maximo™ system was named a winner for Best New Implementation at the 2021 MaximoWorld conference.
Dan also held several operational leadership roles across CGS’ subsidiaries. He joined Chugach Management Services, Inc. (CMSI) in 2000 as the Construction Services Manager on the MacDill Air Force Base (AFB) Base Operations and Support contract (BOS). In 2006, he was promoted to Operations Manager for CMSI and oversaw the company's four largest BOS contracts. In 2008, Dan was selected as President of CMSI where he served until his follow-on appointment as President of Chugach Federal Solutions, Inc. (CFSI) in 2009. As the first President of CFSI, Dan led the upstart company’s growth and development through the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) program and helped CFSI grow to become Chugach’s largest subsidiary at the time, with over 1,300 employees and 30 contracts spanning three business lines. In December 2012, Dan was appointed as President of several other subsidiary companies such as Chugach World Services, Inc. (CWSI) and Wolf Creek Federal Services, Inc. (WCFSI). In 2014, Dan assumed the role as VP of Construction for CGS, LLC while retaining his role as CWSI President. At the beginning of 2016, Dan re-joined CFSI for his second tenure as the company’s President.
Prior to joining Chugach, Dan served in the military as a Civil Engineering officer in the U.S. Air Force, where his positions included Facility Manager for the B-2 Bomber Weapon System Program and a variety of base level engineering positions. In addition to his vast federal government experience, Dan also possesses private sector engineering and construction project management experience through his employment with Metric Constructors (a J.A. Jones subsidiary) and Westinghouse Power Corporation. He also owned and operated his own custom home building and light commercial construction company.
Dan has a master’s in business administration from Florida Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Central Florida. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, a Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) and holds a Class “A” General Contractor’s license in Florida.
